Cathe Live: Steptastic

Cathe Live Review: Steptastic (#37)

Steptastic is an enjoyable and fun cardio step routine with blasts sprinkled throughout.

The workout consists of three step combos with a variety of step and floor blasts mixed in. Each combo is built up gradually so you have time to learn the steps before putting the moves together. Each combo is repeated lots of times too so you will definitely be familiar with them by the end. The combos are fairly dancey with several turns and moves going over and across the step. The choreography is not too complex though and if you are familiar with Cathe’s other step workouts then the moves won’t be too difficult to pick up.

Each combo is repeated at least four times through, once completed, and you then join the first and second combos together. These are then repeated, a number of times, with cardio blasts in between before moving onto the third combo. Once completed you then put all three combos together with cardio blasts included.

The cardio blasts are straight forward moves and often involve jumping jacks, in between, so these will definitely get your heart rate up. This definitely wasn’t the most intense routine but I did get a nice cardio workout.

The workout ends with a cool down using the step. The step tapping and turning move here took me a little while to wrap my head around but I managed to get it right for the second side! As with all step routines, be patient with the moves and just have some fun along the way.

Overall, this was a fun cardio workout that will get your heart rate up and provide a nice challenge for both body and mind!

The Workout

Steptastic is cardio step routine consisting of three combos and various step and floor blasts. Cathe used a full size step with one riser on each side. You could always increase the step height further, if you want more of a challenge.

Great step workout. Not too complicated if you're familiar with Cathe's Steps from back in the day. The famous grapevine, A Step, V steps. I was sweating all the way. 🔥🔥🥵

Day Two: much better. I still struggle with my feet landing in the right place in combo 2, but I moved on, learned 3, and completed the workout in less time than yesterday. Learned some new moves!! Yesss. Im glad I stuck it out another day to really "get it."

This was pretty dancy, but im not an experienced stepper with choreography. It took me 65 minutes just to learn the first 2 combos, and I still can't "get" the knee shuffle, Knee shuffle from combo 2. It's not max intense so it wasn't a horrible workout day. I will revisit this tomorrow. I will try again.
